We are a local and in-state moving company. Everything is charged by the hour at a published rate, with a three-hour minimum, and we will put the estimate in writing before you commit.
Loading & unloading only
You rent the truck, pod or container and drive it. We do the heavy part at either end. Popular for long-distance moves you are driving yourself.

Damage cover, explained properly
Movers are not insurers, and “fully insured” does not mean what you think.
When a moving company says it is fully insured, that usually refers to its liability and cargo policies, not to a promise to replace your dresser. What covers your belongings is called valuation, and there are two kinds. The difference is thousands of dollars.
Released Value Protection — free, and nearly worthless
The default on interstate moves, at 60 cents per pound per article. A 45-pound television is covered for $27. A 30-pound laptop and monitor setup is covered for $18. It costs you nothing and it is what you get if you do not actively choose otherwise.
Full Value Protection — what you probably want
The mover is liable for the replacement value, repair, or a cash settlement on damaged items. It costs extra, it usually has a deductible, and movers may limit liability on items of extraordinary value unless you list them specifically before the move.
Check your own policies first
Some homeowner and renter policies cover belongings in transit, sometimes better than either option above. Call your insurer before you buy valuation from any mover. We will happily lose that add-on sale if you are already covered.

The 60-cent figure is the federal standard for interstate moves. Rules for moves within a single state are set by that state and can differ — ask us, or your state's regulator, what applies to yours.
The other thing that goes wrong
The estimate doubles on move day, with your furniture already on the truck.
This is the classic moving complaint, and it works because your leverage disappears the moment the truck is loaded. It is almost always a non-binding estimate that was never meant to hold. Here is the difference, and which one we give you.
01 / NON-BINDING
A guess, and legally just a guess
The mover estimates the cost, then charges you for what the job actually takes or weighs. It can legitimately come in higher, and some companies quote low on purpose knowing that. If a quote does not say which type it is, assume it is this one.
02 / BINDING
A price, in writing, that holds
The figure is the figure, provided the inventory and access are what you described. If the job turns out smaller, a binding estimate does not drop — which is the trade-off. Ask any mover for one in writing and see how they react.
03 / WHAT WE DO
Hourly, with a written cap
We charge by the hour so you only pay for time used, and we will put a not-to-exceed figure in writing on request. If we go over it because we were slow, that is ours. If the inventory changes on the day, we re-price with you before loading, not after.
If a mover ever refuses to unload your things until you pay more
That is a hostage load, and it is not a payment dispute you have to settle at the kerb. Do not pay cash on the spot to make it go away. Interstate moves are regulated by the federal government and there is a complaint process; in-state moves are handled by your state's regulator or attorney general. Photograph everything, keep every document, and call them.

How a move runs
Three steps, and the paperwork happens before the lifting.
STEP 01
A walkthrough, in person or by video
Fifteen minutes on a video call is usually enough. We need to see the volume and the access — stairs, lifts, parking — because access is what makes a move run long.
STEP 02
Written estimate and inventory
Crew size, hours, hourly rate, extras and a not-to-exceed figure if you want one, plus your valuation choice made in writing before the day rather than on a clipboard at 8am.
STEP 03
Move day
Crew arrives in the agreed window, walks the place with you, wraps and loads. Anything that changes the price gets raised before it is loaded. You sign off when everything is placed.
Questions
Worth asking any mover.
How long will my move actually take?
A studio is usually 3 to 4 hours with two movers, a one-bedroom 4 to 6, a two-bedroom 6 to 8 with three movers. Stairs and a long carry to the truck add more than most people expect — a third floor with no lift can add two hours by itself.
Should I tip, and how much?
It is not expected and it is never added to your bill. If the crew did well, $20 to $40 per mover for a half-day is a normal range in this area. Cold drinks are appreciated more than people think.
What should I do before you arrive?
Have boxes packed and sealed, beds stripped, and a clear path to the door. Set aside anything you are taking in your own car so it does not end up on the truck. Reserve parking if your street needs it — that one saves the most time and money.
Do you move things on the weekend?
Yes, with a 15% surcharge on Saturdays, Sundays and the last three days of the month, because that is when everyone moves. A midweek move mid-month is the cheapest slot there is.
What if something does get damaged?
Tell us before we leave and note it on the inventory. Claims are settled under whichever valuation you selected, which is why that choice matters more than almost anything else you sign. We will walk you through the process rather than making you find it yourself.
Can you help with a long-distance move?
We can load and unload for you, which is the part that costs the most in labour and does the most damage if done badly. We do not drive interstate ourselves. If that is what you need, we will say so straight away rather than take a deposit.
